Aviary is a suite of powerful editing tools that has creative applications and you can be used from anywhere in the world, right over the Internet. “It makes creation accessible to artists of all genres, from graphic design to audio editing.” (2010, Aviary)

The solutions are endless. You can design and manipulate images and audio. Creating or just changing logos, web templates, filters, color palettes, screen capture and more at Aviary is a cinch. From basic image retouching to complex effects they have Phoenix Image Editor, Peacock-effects Editor, Myna-Audio Editor, Toucan-Color Editor, Raven-Vector Editor and Falcon-Image Markup tools that delivers the key features of a desktop image editor with the simplicity and accessibility of a web-based applications. Enhancing saturation, casting shadows, cooring line art, compositional cropping, and enhancing eyes are just a few of the tools Aviary offer. Then there are distortion tools that allow you to scale and skew images to fit perspective backgrounds for advertisements. Layering, changing hair and nail color in another feature that can be done in one minute, without having to leave your computer. Can turn a photo of a house from daytime to night without having to wait 24 hours. Turning an image into a comic strip is also very simple.

There are so many different techniques and possibilities with this Web 2.0 tool, that I had to write about this one. It can be used for marketing your business, especially if your in the entertainment industry, as well as promoting someone else’s business. Presentations, logos, advertisements, whatever, the possibilities can be endless. It can even be used in the classroom on projects you or your students can make, and someone would probably win an award for the things that can be created with this tool. Even if you want to just change your own personal photos of friends and family, and watch their faces when they see the things that can be done with Aviary. The possibilities are endless.
