Flickr is an online photo managing and sharing application, you can make creative projects, organize and tag your photos. Then with the cloud tagging feature, you can see others photos that has been tagged in the same category as your own, and share and use them. You can do this from anywhere in the world, at any time, right from your desktop, camera phone or by email. That in itself is a feature worth talking about.

You can also create groups and discussions boards and this was the most exciting part to me. When we were given the assignment within our group to search and post lesson plans. How fun was that? I now realize the value of social networking. For us as educators connecting students with their learning is essential. Flickr can be used in various ways in education to create slides shows, take virtual field trips, create visual arguments, create flash cards, playing memory games, building a story around an image, brainstorming, communicating, teamwork and so many more engaging ways to have students be creative while having fun at the same time.
